Sarah Baker College Campus Director

Sarah started attending Second City Church in September 2016. Sarah came to know the good news of Jesus when she was 16 years old while struggling with disordered eating behaviors coupled with the mental and emotional demands of perfectionism and the dance industry. This started her relationship with Jesus while still pursuing a dance degree and business degree at Chapman University in California. After moving to Chicago for a dance company, Sarah had a lot of questions about evidence for faith, the validity of Jesus, and what it really looked like for Jesus to be the Lord of her life. Making Jesus the star of the show changed her priorities, passions, and pursuits all for the better as His perfection and worthiness brought light to her darkness. She then transitioned into full-time ministry. Now, Sarah is the college campus director and leads the dance ministry.

Anthony Connington Second City Intern

Anthony was born in Santa Ana, CA and is the middle child with 2 older brothers and one younger brother. As a kid, Anthony moved around the country and has had the opportunity to live in many different cities and settings. 3 days after graduating high school, he joined the military and served for 6 years in Spokane, WA. While in the military God developed within him a heart for those who don’t know Jesus.

While in Spokane, Anthony met the love of his life Jessica and the two were married in 2017. Later that year they both felt the call to move to Chicago so Anthony could pursue coursework at the Moody Bible Institute. Currently, he is a senior in the Pastoral Studies Program and serves as Second City Church’s Staff Intern. Anthony has a passion for the gospel of Jesus and a deep love for people. His greatest joy is spending time with his wife and 3 little girls and a baby boy. His second joy is training, equipping and empowering people for the work of ministry. His desire is to see the church of Christ thriving and growing in their relationship with Christ.

Garrett Hageman Campus Missionary

Garrett was born in Bloomington, Indiana and spent the early years of his life in East Asia as a missionary kid. He came to know Jesus at an early age while his family was serving overseas. After his family moved back to Indiana, he was baptized in middle school. In 2015, his family moved to North Carolina where Garrett spent most of his high school years. In August 2018 at the age of 17, Garrett surrendered his calling and purpose to the Lord, desiring to go into ministry.

While Garrett was finishing his undergraduate at Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, God deepened his compassion for Chicago and for the nations. God used many people at Second City Church and others to disciple him and build him up in his walk with Jesus.

After graduation Garrett moved back to Chicago in January 2024 and is now serving as a campus missionary at Second City. He is primarily serving on the campus of UIC (University of Illinois Chicago). His desire is to see students on the campus be redeemed by Jesus and be sent out to make disciples among the campus, city and nations.
