Why We Pray

Prayer & the Mission: The Unfolding Story of God’s Redemptive Purpose

Prayer is how we partner with God in His redemptive work. Through prayer, God forms us as disciples, aligns us with His purposes, and releases His will in the earth.

  • Prayer aligns us with God’s purposes
    (Genesis 1:26–28; Psalm 115:16)

  • Prayer releases spiritual authority
    (Matthew 16:19; Luke 10:19)

  • Prayer means standing in the gap for others
    (Ezekiel 22:30; Isaiah 62:6–7)
